Beach Tips
The beach is one of the best parts of staying at Surfside Resort. Guests enjoy:

Ocean Safety
Please use caution near the ocean. The Oregon Coast can have sneaker waves, strong currents, cold water, shifting tides, and large driftwood near the surf. For your safety, never turn your back on the ocean.
Beach fires may be allowed when conditions permit. Please check current local rules before starting a fire and make sure all fires are fully extinguished before leaving the beach.

A seasonal scenic train experience along the coast.

Hiking and Outdoors
Trail to the Cedar Tree
An easy walk just a couple miles from Surfside. The trail is about a mile in and leads to a large cedar tree. Parking is limited, so plan accordingly.
Neahkahnie Mountain
A more challenging coastal hike with rewarding views — a great option for guests looking for a more active outdoor adventure.
Fishing, Crabbing and Gear
Kelly's Marina and Jetty Fishery are both local options for equipment rentals, helpful guidance, and recommendations on where to go.

Tours and Charters
Seasonal charters run out of Garibaldi and nearby coastal towns. Depending on the season and conditions, guests may find fishing charters, crabbing trips, combo trips, and whale watching.

Local Events
Rockaway Beach hosts seasonal events throughout the year, including the Kite Festival, farmers market, Fourth of July festivities, and other community gatherings.
